Konami praised the Silent Hill 2 remake’s remarkable performance, which exceeded 2 million units sold.
Bloober Team developed the remake, which was released on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on October 8, 2024. Within a few days, it had passed the one million sales mark, perhaps making it the fastest-selling Silent Hill game ever—though Konami has yet to officially confirm that record. There is still no word on the Xbox Series X|S release.
“Since its release, Silent Hill 2 has received a multitude of accolades, including several ‘perfect’ review scores, multiple award wins, and nominations, cementing itself as a timeless entry in the horror video game genre,” Konami tweeted.
This achievement could bolster Konami’s relaunch of the Silent Hill property, which has gained traction in recent years. Silent Hill F and Silent Hill: Townfall are two upcoming projects, with a film version of Silent Hill 2 also in the works.
Meanwhile, PC modders have been having fun with the remake, changing everything from hair sheen and the game’s signature fog to making it into a weird “Sunny Hills” variant.
